Muktinath

The Jomsom–Muktinath trek, which is part of the Annapurna circuit, is one of Nepal's most popular treks. It is well-known among locals and foreigners alike for its natural beauty, easy trails, and the holy site of Muktinath. If you want to experience the Annapurna region in a shorter, easier, and lower altitude trek, the Jomsom-Muktinath trek is for you.

Muktinath, the trek's ultimate destination, is one of the most sacred sites for Hindus and Buddhists alike. Muktinath is revered by Hindus as an incarnation of Lord Bishnu, and bathing in the holy taps here is thought to bring salvation after death. It is a Buddhist pilgrimage site where the sage guru Rinpoche meditated. Every year, hundreds of devotees come here for the Janai Purnima festival.

Jomsom and Muktinath are rain shadow areas, so you can enjoy the trails and beautiful destinations at any time of year. Views of the Himalayas can be had from vantage points such as Poonhill and Ghorepani. Tatopani's hot spring is a similarly relaxing and enjoyable experience.

You will be transported from lush green valleys and hills to cold desert-like areas in the mountains as the trek progresses. You get a glimpse into the lives of people in modern cities as well as the cultures of remote, traditional villages. The trek is ideal for experiencing Nepal's diversity in just two weeks.
